Mit „Sanctuary Rat“, dem siebten Studioalbum melden sich THE ARCH eindrucksvoll zurück! Die neue LP wurde am 22. September 2023 via Dryland Records (als sechsseitiges CD-Digisleeve und digital) veröffentlicht. Ihr einzigartiger New-Wave/Dark-Romance-Sound paart Gitarrenparts, elektronische Elemente und treibende Beats mit einem Hauch bittersüßer Melancholie.

Die belgische New-Wave Band THE ARCH wurde im Sommer 1986 in Breendonk, Belgien, gegründet. Unter der Leitung von Ludo Camberlin, dem bekannten Produzenten von The Neon Judgement und The Weathermen, wurde 1987 das erste Album „As Quiet As“ mit dem Underground-Hit „Babsi ist tot“ veröffentlicht, der noch heute die Tanzflächen füllt. Mit dem Song „Ribdancer“, der drei Jahre später veröffentlicht wurde, erlangte THE ARCH weltweite Bekanntheit, ausgedehnte Konzertreisen führten sie daraufhin durch ganz Europa.

In dieser Zeit konnte die Band ihren Ruf als vorzüglicher Live-Act untermauern und teilte u.a. mit Peter Murphy (Bauhaus), The Mission, Clan Of Xymox oder The Neon Judgement die Bühne. Darüber hinaus spielten sie auf zahlreichen Festivals wie z.B. Wave Gothic Treffen, Wfest, BIM, Dark Malta, New Waves Day, NCN oder M’era Luna und waren Headliner beim Sinnersday 2021. Im Zuge des neuen Albums sind weitere Konzertreisen in Planung. Mit „Sanctuary Rat“ gelingt es THE ARCH nochmals eindrucksvoll, die eigene Bandhistorie mit zehn neuen energetischen Songs zu bereichern.

THE ARCH make a triumphant return with their seventh studio album, „Sanctuary Rat“! The new LP was released on September 22, 2023, via Dryland Records (as a six-panel CD digisleeve and digitally). Their unique New Wave/Dark Romance sound blends guitar riffs, electronic elements and driving beats with a touch of bittersweet melancholy.

The Belgian New Wave band THE ARCH was founded in the summer of 1986 in Breendonk, Belgium. Led by Ludo Camberlin, the renowned producer of The Neon Judgement and The Weathermen, they released their debut album, „As Quiet As,“ in 1987, featuring the underground hit „Babsi ist tot,“ which still fills dance floors today. With the song „Ribdancer,“ released three years later, THE ARCH achieved worldwide fame, leading to extensive concert tours throughout Europe.

During this time, the band solidified their reputation as an outstanding live act, sharing the stage with artists such as Peter Murphy (Bauhaus), The Mission, Clan Of Xymox and The Neon Judgement. They also played at numerous festivals, including Wave Gothic Treffen, Wfest, BIM, Dark Malta, New Waves Day, NCN, and M’era Luna and headlined Sinnersday 2021. Further tours are planned in support of their new album. With „Sanctuary Rat,“ THE ARCH once again impressively enriches their own band history with ten new, energetic songs.
